Simply replace the word 'example' with whatever you'd like the name of your block or item to be. You can include numbers, letters, and spaces. Unlike other string attributes, any value you care to input is valid. All that's necessary is that the entire string be within the quotation marks.
When the damagevalues attribute for a block is set to anything other than 0, name attribute will be the name of the block with no damage value. To name blocks with higher values, add the cooresponding number after 'name' but before the '=' as shown here:
name="first block"; //block with no damage value damagevalues=2; //allows more blocks on the same id name1="second block"; //block with damage value of 1 name2="third block; //block with damage value of 2
